Job Description

SRM Concrete, known as Smyrna Ready Mix, is a family-owned and values-driven leader in the ready mix concrete industry. Since its founding in 1999 with a single plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, SRM Concrete has expanded impressively to over 600 locations nationwide. This growth is rooted in a steadfast commitment to quality, integrity, and exceptional service. The company prides itself on serving its customers, communities, and team members with excellence—delivering every load with precision and care every day. As a national leader in concrete supply, SRM Concrete cultivates a culture based on respect, hard work, teamwork, and doing what’s right both on the job and within the community.

SRM Concrete is currently hiring Mixer Operators, also known as Ready Mix Truck Drivers, CDL Mixer Drivers, or Concrete Mixer Operators. This role is ideal for individuals who possess a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), who are safety-focused, service-oriented, and dedicated to achieving outstanding customer service. Mixer Operators at SRM Concrete are responsible for operating concrete mixer trucks to deliver ready mix concrete to various commercial and residential construction sites. The position emphasizes not only the safe and timely delivery of concrete but also the representation of SRM’s brand and values in every customer interaction. Safety protocols are paramount, with strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and company safety standards.

Beyond driving and delivering concrete, Mixer Operators load, mix, and inspect the concrete to ensure compliance with exact specifications and stringent quality standards. They also perform regular vehicle inspections and routine maintenance to ensure safety and operational compliance. Strong cooperation with dispatch and plant teams is necessary for efficient scheduling and proper routing of deliveries. The role occasionally involves assisting with general plant or yard duties, demonstrating the team-oriented culture that SRM Concrete fosters.

This role offers considerable benefits, including consistent local routes that allow operators to be home daily and no Sunday work, supporting work-life balance. It is a full-time role featuring competitive hourly pay, overtime eligibility after 8 hours, along with bonuses and annual raises. The company invests in its employees by offering comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), a 401(k) plan with a weekly employer match, family days, and a supportive, respectful team culture.

At SRM Concrete, Mixer Operators are more than just drivers; they are vital members of a team helping build America’s infrastructure and future. The company values strong work ethics, reliability, and a positive, proactive attitude, making it an excellent workplace for those seeking career advancement in a rapidly expanding industry. Whether you have previous experience as a mixer operator or are a motivated newcomer ready to learn, SRM Concrete welcomes applicants who want to contribute to a company that holds its values and standards high and rewards dedication and hard work.
