At Knife River, the core philosophy is a PEOPLE-first approach, placing immense value on its workforce, who are seen as the driving force behind the company's success. The company prioritizes providing its team with the necessary tools, comprehensive training, and a safe working environment, ensuring each employee can perform their job with maximum productivity and safety every day. This commitment to employee welfare reflects in the company culture, reinforcing teamwork, safety, and professionalism at all levels.

As a Ready Mix Driver, responsibilities include conducting thorough pre and post-trip inspections of truck equipment, properly documenting all deliveries, maintaining cleanliness of the truck, and strictly adhering to Knife River's operational policies and safety protocols. The company values drivers who show professional and courteous behavior towards customers and team members alike, and who demonstrate flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Physical fitness is also necessary for this role, especially the ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times a day.

These benefits include paid holidays and time off, multiple medical plan options with generous employer contributions, health savings accounts, prescription plans, dental and vision coverage, as well as company-paid life and disability insurance. Additionally, employees can benefit from a profit-sharing program, 401(k) plans with company matching, voluntary life insurance options, critical illness, and accident coverage plans. The company also supports employees with an Employee Assistance Program, travel insurance, and access to legal advice.
Furthermore, Knife River is dedicated to supporting veterans transitioning into civilian careers. The company recognizes the valuable skills military personnel bring and actively recruits individuals with relevant military experience, particularly in roles related to construction equipment operation and vehicle driving across various branches of the armed forces. The inclusive hiring practices at Knife River ensure equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, gender, veteran status, or any protected category, reaffirming the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in its workforce. Overall, the Ready Mix Driver position at Knife River offers a rewarding career path for individuals seeking stability, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to be part of a respected, community-focused company.
