Job Description
KDC is a distinguished network of best-in-class custom formulators and manufacturers specializing in color cosmetics, skincare, haircare, bath & body, fragrance, deodorant, home, health, industrial, and auto care products. The company is renowned for delivering high-touch innovation, operational excellence, and swift speed to market, catering to well-known and emerging beauty, personal, and specialty brands across North America. Headquartered in Longueuil, Québec, KDC operates ten facilities spread strategically across the continent and employs nearly 4,800 talented and dedicated professionals. This extensive reach and deep expertise enable KDC to maintain its leadership in the development and manufacturing of premium personal care and specialty products, driving continuous growth and innovation in the competitive beauty industry.
KDC-One Columbus currently seeks a full-time Compounder (Mixing & Batching) to join their New Albany facility located at Beech Road and 161. This role offers a competitive starting pay of $20 to $23 per hour, reflecting the company's commitment to valuing skilled employees. The Compounder position plays a crucial role in the production process by blending ingredients, fine-tuning product formulas, and ensuring the seamless creation of bulk products that power top beauty and personal care brands. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a passion for teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, wet, and chemical-friendly environment.
As a Compounder at KDC-One, you will be responsible for staging and measuring raw materials to create precise batches of bulk products. You will operate batching tanks, mixers, and other essential equipment according to exact specifications to maintain high-quality standards. Conducting visual quality checks and reporting any anomalies ensures that the products leaving the facility meet rigorous safety and quality requirements. The role also involves cleaning and sanitizing equipment to comply with industry standards and internal protocols.
Additionally, you will collect in-process samples for laboratory testing and make necessary adjustments based on the results, ensuring consistent product quality. Documenting all batch activities accurately in SAP is critical for inventory control and compliance. The job requires collaboration with maintenance teams for the calibration and upkeep of equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency. Safety is paramount in this role; therefore, adherence to GMP and OSHA guidelines, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a safe work environment are essential.
This position is perfect for someone with a high school diploma or GED who has a solid grasp of math and reading, experience in compounding or processing is highly desirable but not mandatory. The ability to lift up to 80 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work with hot water, cleaning agents, and industrial-grade machinery is necessary to succeed in this physically demanding role. If you have a love for detail and a passion for making products that people use every day, KDC-One Columbus invites you to apply and be part of their exciting journey where better starts here.
