Operating with over 18,000 employees across more than 40 locations, Conagra fosters an energized, inclusive, and innovative culture where employees are empowered to achieve their full potential and advance their careers. The company emphasizes sustainability, community engagement, and health-conscious solutions, demonstrating its commitment not only to great food but also to positively impacting the world around it.
This production operator role at Conagra Brands is an onsite position located in Indianapolis, Indiana, offering an hourly wage of $22.00 with an additional $0.50 shift differential. The work schedule includes various start and end times, accommodating production needs. As a Production Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of production processes in a controlled food processing environment. You will be primarily responsible for blending raw materials accurately, operating automated machinery with the aid of computer systems, and maintaining quality control through following precise recipes and production specifications. This position requires adherence to strict safety and quality procedures to maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, and GMP standards.
Key responsibilities of the Production Operator include handling raw materials by weight or automated metering systems, monitoring and documenting production variables such as downtime and product samples, and participating in start-up, operation, maintenance, and shutdown processes of production equipment. You will be responsible for scaling ingredients accurately, operating control panels for automated machinery including those with PLCs or MMIs, and ensuring strict compliance with recipe time and temperature points to meet quality standards. Additionally, you will report to a Team Lead and may be required to work overtime to meet production and maintenance schedules.
In this role, physical and mental demands include standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, lifting or pushing weights of 50+ lbs, reading detailed recipes for ingredient mixing, manually transporting packaging materials, and working long shifts of up to 12 hours. The company values safety, quality, and accountability and actively supports reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Joining Conagra means becoming part of a company that values diversity and inclusion, offering career development, competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a culture focused on growth and balance.
Overall, the Production Operator role is ideal for candidates who have previous experience in food processing or manufacturing environments, are comfortable with automated machinery and computerized control panels, and have a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. This position offers a stable work environment with opportunities for advancement within one of the most respected companies in the food industry.
