Job Description
The hiring establishment is a food production company dedicated to delivering high-quality products through stringent adherence to food safety and good manufacturing practices. This company operates within the food manufacturing industry, emphasizing a clean, orderly, and efficient production environment. Commitment to food safety culture, employee training, and continuous improvement are core pillars that define the workplace atmosphere and operational standards. The company ensures all employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge, training, and support to meet and exceed customer specifications consistently. Operating in a department known as the Mixing Room, the company uses advanced processes and standard operating procedures to maintain the safety and quality of all products. This establishment values teamwork, accountability, and a shared sense of responsibility toward food safety and quality across all levels of the organization.
The role of Mixer is a pivotal position within the Mixing Room department, reporting directly to the Mixing Manager. This position is hourly paid and involves direct involvement in preparing all products necessary for production. The Mixer is responsible for following safety protocols, food safety guidelines, and GMP regulations rigorously to ensure that all production materials meet the company's high standards. The Mixer maintains cleanliness and organization at their workstation and is tasked with training Mixer Apprentices, contributing to the skill development of the team.
Moreover, the Mixer oversees ingredient preparation, ensuring all materials are approved before use and meet production specifications. They are proficient in cleaning batch and holding tanks using clean-in-place (CIP) procedures and are flexible enough to cover other Mixer shifts when needed. The job requires strict adherence to production schedules and the ability to manage ingredient stocks properly, ensuring rotation to maintain freshness and quality. A critical part of the job is recognizing when issues arise that require escalation and communicating effectively with the Mixing Manager for resolution.
This role demands a strong foundation in understanding safety and food quality standards, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to follow detailed operating instructions. The Mixer must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be willing to attend training programs that further enhance their job knowledge and performance. The position also calls for practical skills such as basic mathematics, understanding of SOPs, data entry capabilities, and forklift operation certification. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks requiring dexterity and mobility.
Working in a moderate noise environment governed by company rules and good manufacturing practices, the Mixer plays an essential role in maintaining the company’s reputation for delivering safe and high-quality food products. Individuals seeking this position should be prepared for a dynamic and safety-focused work environment where attention to detail and commitment to quality are paramount.
