Job Description
Los Lunas Animal Clinic is a well-established mixed animal veterinary practice located in Los Lunas, New Mexico, a charming town nestled along the Rio Grande just south of Albuquerque. Known for its unique blend of small-town ambiance and modern conveniences, Los Lunas offers residents affordable living, stunning desert landscapes, and easy access to outdoor activities such as hiking and recreation, as well as dining and entertainment options in nearby Albuquerque. The clinic plays a pivotal role within this close-knit community, delivering compassionate and high-quality veterinary care for companion animals, horses, and livestock throughout central New Mexico.\n\nAt Los Lunas Animal Clinic, the veterinary team enjoys working in a diverse practice that encompasses small animal general practice, equine medicine and surgery, livestock and production animal medicine, preventive and wellness care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, in-house laboratory diagnostics, urgent care, herd health management, reproductive services, and ambulatory farm calls. This breadth of services offers veterinarians the chance to maintain and grow their skills in multiple species and medical disciplines, making it an ideal environment for veterinarians seeking variety and a comprehensive caseload.\n\nOne standout feature of the clinic is its dedicated equine surgical facility, supporting advanced surgical procedures for horses. This specialized facility supports a collaborative team approach and enables practitioners with an interest in equine medicine to practice at a high level, while still participating in a mixed animal practice. Whether you are an experienced mixed animal veterinarian, an equine specialist wanting to expand your case variety, or a new graduate looking for mentorship and broad skill development, Los Lunas Animal Clinic offers flexible scheduling options, a supportive team environment, and opportunities for professional growth and development.\n\nVeterinarians who join the Los Lunas Animal Clinic team will experience a rewarding work week primarily from Monday to Saturday with full-time employment preferred but flexible scheduling available. This role offers a competitive base salary, quarterly production bonuses without negative accrual, and a generous sign-on bonus and relocation support. The clinic is committed to offering a balanced work-life experience while delivering exceptional medical care to community animals.\n\nIn this role, you will be able to provide wellness and preventive care, urgent care, diagnostic imaging, surgery, and dentistry to companion animals. You will be involved in lameness evaluations, diagnostics, dental care, reproductive services, emergency and urgent care cases, and surgical procedures for equine patients. The clinic also provides comprehensive services for livestock including herd health management, vaccinations, regulatory testing, reproductive assistance, medical and surgical treatment, and client consultation.\n\nLos Lunas Animal Clinic is known for its strong community reputation and values each veterinarian's individual medical interests. The hospital promotes a positive, collaborative workplace culture and offers mentorship to new graduates to support their clinical and professional development. The combination of diverse species care, advanced equine surgery, and a dedication to compassionate veterinary medicine within a rural and agricultural community makes this an exceptional opportunity for veterinarians seeking a meaningful and varied career path.
