Conagra Brands is currently seeking dedicated Mixers to join its manufacturing team on the 2nd shift at the Kent, Washington plant. This role operates from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, offering an hourly rate of $25.00 with an additional $1.50 shift differential. Mixers play a crucial role in the production process by tending to machines that mix ingredients such as salt, flour, eggs, and soda to prepare batter as per specific formulas. This position requires careful weighing, mixing, and hand-stirring of ingredients while ensuring adherence to rigorous food safety, sanitation, and manufacturing standards including SQF and GMP protocols. Mixers record key data including ingredient amounts, mixing times, and temperatures to maintain quality and consistency.

Working under the supervision of the shift supervisor, mixers become integral team members in a plant that employs over 235 individuals. This role demands flexibility to work varying hours including occasional to frequent overtime to meet production deadlines. Employees in this position must be trained and validated in cleaning and sanitizing equipment and their surroundings using plant-specific chemicals while following safety guidelines such as ladder safety and PPE requirements. The role also involves collaboration and communication with cooks and production specialists, along with the possibility to rotate into the Production Specialist position. Maintained regular attendance and accountability for one’s work are critical to success in this function.

Candidates with one or more years of machine operation and manufacturing experience are preferred. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of machine and manufacturing experience
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work second shift hours from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Flexibility to work occasional to frequent overtime
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to learn and comply with safety protocols
  • Reliable attendance

Job Duties

  • Tend a machine that mixes ingredients such as salt, flour, eggs and soda to produce batter according to formula
  • Weigh and mix ingredients in mixing tank
  • Hand stir mix with 3' long spatula
  • Record information about ingredients and timing
  • Receive instructions from Cook in person or on telephone regarding the mixes needed
  • Record temperature of mixes
  • Follow safety/food safety (SQF)/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
