With a rich heritage of making great food, Conagra Brands is committed to innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability. The company operates across over 40 locations and employs more than 18,000 people nationwide. Conagra is dedicated to creating an engaging and supportive work environment where employees can reach their full potential, make meaningful impacts, and own their career paths. This emphasis on people and culture is central to the company's mission, reflecting their focus on championing their workforce alongside their popular food products.
This opportunity is for a Mixer position at Conagra Brands' manufacturing facility located in Kent, Washington. The role is a full-time first shift with working hours from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM and offers a competitive hourly wage of $25.00. As a Mixer, you will be part of a dedicated team of over 235 colleagues and report directly to the shift supervisor. Your primary responsibility will involve operating and tending machines that mix key ingredients such as salt, flour, eggs, and soda to produce batter according to established formulas.
Your daily activities will include weighing and mixing ingredients in large mixing tanks, hand stirring mixes with specialized spatulas, and recording detailed information about ingredients, timing, and temperatures. Effective communication is essential, as you will receive instructions from the Cook either in person or via telephone. Maintaining rigorous safety, food safety (SQF), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards is crucial in this role. You will undergo training and validation to properly clean and sanitize equipment and work areas, focused specifically on your section, such as cookers, depositors, conveyors, floors, and walls.
In addition to sanitation protocols, the role requires comprehensive knowledge of ladder safety, water and drain management, chemical handling, and the application of plant-specific cleaning chemicals. Flexibility is key since the position may require overtime to meet production deadlines, as well as the ability to rotate into the Production Specialist position as needed.
Conagra Brands emphasizes accountability, adherence to work standards, and high-quality productivity. The company fosters a culture that supports open communication, teamwork, and integrity. As a Mixer, your role is integral to ensuring that production processes run smoothly and safely while upholding the high standards expected by Conagra. The company also values attendance and punctuality, expecting employees in this role to maintain regular attendance.
Conagra Brands invests in the well-being of its employees through comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life, accident, and disability insurance, competitive pay, 401(k) and pension plans, financial wellness programs, stock purchase plans, career development opportunities, employee resource groups, paid time off, and volunteer opportunities. The company is an equal opportunity employer and provides reasonable accommodations as needed. This role is ideal for individuals with at least one year of machine and manufacturing experience who are motivated, flexible, and ready to grow within a dynamic and supportive food production environment.
