The role of Event and Meeting Planner at Parkview Health System is pivotal in ensuring the seamless planning and execution of events, conferences, and meetings from conception to completion. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of event logistics for both internal and external customers. The planner will handle sales and contract negotiations, coordinate food and beverage selections, oversee room set-ups, and arrange for audio visual services among other event components. The position demands a proactive and organized professional who can effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders including clients, vendors, and internal service departments to meet or exceed expectations.
This role plays a critical part in managing budgets for each project, ensuring accurate invoicing and processing of payments. It requires providing expert advice and service in event and meeting planning, cultivating positive client relationships through clear and efficient communication. The Event and Meeting Planner also ensures that Parkview's standards of quality customer service are consistently met throughout all stages of event execution. Leadership skills are important for managing employees and guests during events, maintaining excellent working relationships, and conducting smooth operations.
Candidates for this job need a strong foundation in event planning, meeting room space management, menu planning, and banquet standards. The ability to multitask and coordinate multiple activities for various groups is crucial. Responsibilities also include organizing large-scale corporate and community events such as grand openings, ribbon cuttings, and groundbreaking ceremonies for the health system.
