Job Description
Parkview Health is a renowned health system committed to providing exceptional health care services to the communities it serves. With a strong emphasis on patient-centered care, advanced medical technologies, and community wellness initiatives, Parkview Health continuously pioneers innovative approaches in health care delivery. A vital part of Parkview Health's service offering is its Mirro Conference Center, which hosts a wide array of meetings, conferences, corporate events, and special ceremonies that uphold the institution's reputation for excellence and professionalism. The Mirro Conference Center is known for its state-of-the-art facilities, including versatile meeting rooms, cutting-edge audio-visual technology, and expert event management services, making it a preferred venue for both internal staff events and external client gatherings. Staff at Parkview’s Mirro Conference Center enjoy a supportive work environment complemented by opportunities for professional growth and continuous learning in the dynamic field of event planning and hospitality within a health care context.
The role of the Event Planner at Parkview Health’s Mirro Conference Center is integral to the smooth execution of diverse events ranging from corporate meetings to large-scale ceremonial functions such as grand openings, ribbon cuttings, and groundbreaking ceremonies. This full-time, benefit-eligible position is responsible for overseeing all facets of event logistics from initial concept through to successful completion. The Event Planner's duties encompass the sales process and contract negotiations where client needs and expectations are clearly articulated and met. The planner consults with clients to advise on event planning, coordinating food and beverage selections that align with both dietary requirements and event themes, ensuring proper room layout and arrangements for audio-visual services, security, and décor selections, reflecting a deep understanding of event atmosphere and client vision.
Managing budgets meticulously from start to finish is a core responsibility, including invoicing and financial follow-ups to ensure seamless project completion within allocated resources. The Event Planner acts as the liaison between clients and multiple service departments within Parkview Health to ensure quality standards and customer satisfaction are upheld. Beyond internal coordination, they select and negotiate with external vendors such as entertainment providers, caterers, audiovisual companies, décor rentals, and floral services to deliver a cohesive event experience marked by professionalism and attention to detail.
An essential skill set involves team leadership and crowd management during events, ensuring guests' comfort and safety while maintaining a high standard of service. The position demands a versatile professional capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously, exercising independence in event coordination while also directing coworkers and vendors with clear communication and collaborative spirit. This dynamic role at Parkview Health offers a rewarding opportunity for experienced meeting and event planners who are passionate about delivering memorable events in a healthcare setting, applying their expertise to support the organization's mission and enhance community engagement.
