Job Description
Behr Paint Company is a renowned manufacturer of high-quality paints, primers, decorative finishes, stains, surface preparation, and application products. Founded in 1947 and based in Santa Ana, California, Behr Paint serves customers across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Chile. The company is proudly known for its trusted brands such as BEHR, KILZ, WHIZZ, and E&J. Serving an audience that includes do-it-yourselfers (DIYers), professionals, architects, and designers, Behr Paint emphasizes a commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional value. Their mission focuses on supporting teams and individuals with products designed to meet the specific needs of precision and durability in home improvement and professional projects alike. As a leading player in the paint manufacturing industry, Behr Paint is dedicated to fostering a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and the unique perspectives each employee brings to the table.
The Batch Making Operator role at Behr Paint Company is an essential position within the coatings production team. This role is akin to a baker in a kitchen, but instead of culinary ingredients, you will be working with chemicals, pigments, and raw materials to produce industrial coatings. This job requires precision and attention to detail, ensuring that each batch is consistent, safe, and high performing, following detailed formula tickets similar to recipes. Operators handle a variety of production machinery including pumps, valves, and compactors, and are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized production floor. This role entails the operation of automated systems for raw materials and milling, along with conducting quality checks to guarantee product standards are met. As a Batch Making Operator, you will be instrumental in the production process, contributing to the overall success and product excellence of Behr Paint.
Starting at $23.50 per hour with structured wage increases after 6 months and one year of employment, this full-time position offers a competitive compensation package. Off-shift team members starting at 12 PM or later also benefit from a $3 per hour shift differential. In addition to hourly pay, quarterly and holiday bonuses are provided to reward employee performance and commitment. Employees accrue 15 days of paid vacation in the first year, plus 5 days of sick time off, allowing for essential work-life balance. Behr Paint also supports long-term financial well-being with a 401(k) retirement plan featuring a 4% company match and annual profit-sharing payments. Health plans designed for individuals and families further enhance the comprehensive benefits offered. The company actively promotes a culture of inclusion and belonging, welcoming diverse talents from all backgrounds and ensuring equal opportunity employment practices. The Batch Making Operator role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who appreciates hands-on production work, values safety, and thrives on delivering consistent, quality products.
