Job Description

The Air National Guard is a unique military branch that offers dynamic and rewarding careers combining military service with the flexibility to maintain full-time or part-time civilian employment. As a vital component of the United States Air Force, the Air National Guard plays an essential role in national defense, homeland security, and disaster response while allowing its members to serve in their local communities. The organization is well-regarded for providing world-class technical training, leadership development, and valuable operational experience that members can leverage for future career opportunities both within and beyond the military. The Air National Guard is committed to fostering a professional environment that promotes personal growth, teamwork, and excellence in all mission areas.

Command and Control Operations Specialists hold a critical position within the Air National Guard, responsible for maintaining effective communication and control over aircraft, missile systems, and critical operational functions. These specialists operate some of the most advanced military technologies available, ensuring that information flows accurately and securely to top decision-makers for mission execution. Their responsibilities include managing command and control facilities located both in the air and on the ground, supporting operations through cutting-edge voice, data, and alerting systems, and monitoring the safety of Airmen during missions and emergency situations. In addition to operating missile launch control technology, Command and Control Operations Specialists play a key role in restoring operations during natural disasters or mission disruptions, making their work essential to both national security and humanitarian efforts.

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary starting from $49,838.78, along with comprehensive benefits including up to 30 days of paid vacation annually, excellent healthcare coverage for members and their families, food and housing allowances, and a generous retirement program that begins immediately upon service entry. Furthermore, members receive world-class technical training that enhances their employability across various industries, plus financial support for college and higher education. Through this role, individuals gain extensive experience in military operations, communications technology, and leadership that prepares them for a wide array of challenging and rewarding career paths. The position is primarily field-based, requiring specialists to operate on the road or at designated command and control locations.
