You will be responsible for organizing office communications, preparing and distributing correspondence, tracking deadlines, and ensuring smooth workflow within the organization. Your work directly supports the efficiency and effectiveness of operational teams.
In terms of human resources responsibilities, this role includes managing personnel and manpower programs crucial to the organizational structure. This involves coordinating manpower data, supporting workforce planning, and maintaining personnel records. You will contribute to the management and development of Air National Guard personnel, a key factor in the success of the mission.
Additionally, executive support is a major component of the role. You will provide top-level administrative assistance to General Officers and Senior Executive Service civilians, facilitating their day-to-day operations and helping to maintain organizational flow. This requires professionalism, discretion, and excellent communication skills.
Candidates must commit to military service with a contract as a commissioned officer in the Air National Guard. This position is particularly suited to individuals who hold a high school diploma or GED and have completed courses in business, English composition, computer software, and keyboarding, which are highly desirable. Candidates must have a minimum ASVAB score of 55 in Administrative areas and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate government vehicles.
New recruits without prior military experience will undergo 8.5 weeks of Basic Military Training at JB San Antonio-Lackland, TX, followed by specialized technical training to prepare for their role effectively. The skills you gain in this capacity are transferrable to civilian fields such as office management and executive assistance, providing a solid foundation for a diverse career path.
This full-time role is predominantly field-based, requiring readiness to work on the road as part of organizational needs.
