Job Description
The Air National Guard is a unique military branch offering exceptional career opportunities for individuals seeking to serve their country while maintaining flexibility in their professional lives. Unlike traditional military roles that often require full-time commitment, the Air National Guard allows members to balance both full-time civilian careers and part-time military service within their local communities. This distinctive structure provides a perfectly balanced path for those who want to serve their nation without sacrificing growth in their civilian professions. As a member of the Air National Guard, you will benefit from training provided by top technical experts in your field, ensuring you develop the skills necessary to excel both in military and civilian environments. Furthermore, the Air National Guard places a strong emphasis on leadership development, equipping members with valuable leadership skills that can drive career advancement and personal growth far beyond their military service.
The Administration position, specifically the role designated as 3F5X1, is a critical function within the Air National Guard that ensures the smooth and efficient operation of organizational and executive activities. Administrators in this role support organizations, executives, and commanders by creating an organized and productive working environment. Their responsibilities revolve around office management, human resources, and executive support, all vital components of the operational backbone for any unit or command.
As an Administrator in the Air National Guard, your duties will include managing office communications by handling correspondence preparation, distribution, suspense tracking, and workflow management. This ensures that organizational communication flows efficiently and that tasks are tracked and completed on time. Additionally, you will oversee human resource functions, including managing personnel and manpower programs, which are crucial for maintaining the operational readiness and proper staffing of the guard units. Lastly, providing executive support to General Officers and Senior Executive Service civilians is part of your responsibilities, involving coordination of schedules, preparation of executive documents, and serving as a reliable point of contact for high-ranking officials.
This full-time position offers a starting salary from $49,838.78 per year and includes job assignments that often require travel. Through this role, candidates can expect to be fully integrated within a structured military environment while gaining experience that also translates well to related civilian careers such as office management and executive assistance. The training provided for this role includes an initial 8.5 weeks of Basic Military Training (BMT) at JB San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, followed by specialized technical training, ensuring that every new recruit is thoroughly prepared to meet the demands of the job. For those without prior military experience, this comprehensive training serves as an introduction to military life, discipline, and operational expectations.
Overall, this position is ideal for organized, detail-oriented individuals who excel in managing multiple administrative functions and are looking for a meaningful career that serves both their country and their professional aspirations. Joining the Air National Guard as an Administrator offers a chance to develop vital skills, enjoy competitive compensation, and make a tangible impact in the military community while maintaining ties to civilian life.
