This particular role is for a Dietitian within the Air Force, focusing on promoting and maintaining the peak mental and physical condition of Airmen. Dietitians play a critical role in enhancing the performance of warfighters by advancing healthy living practices and encouraging positive lifestyle changes. This position involves conducting personal nutrition assessments and creating tailored nutrition plans to keep Airmen healthy, focused, and physically active. The Dietitian supports deployed military operations by providing sound nutrition practices and fostering supportive environments that optimize human performance. Their responsibilities include performing various inpatient and outpatient duties, such as nutrition assessments, patient education, and menu planning. Furthermore, Dietitians determine requirements for foodservice facilities, personnel, equipment, and overall operations to ensure efficient and effective nutrition support. Serving as an adviser to commanders on nutrition and dietetics, the Dietitian contributes invaluable expertise toward mission success. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Completion of a didactic program in dietetics approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
- Knowledge of the principles of human nutrition, regular and therapeutic diets, cultural food habits and foodservice management
- Minimum of 24 months of experience in dietetic assignments
- Completion of Officer Training School course
- Must be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 42nd birthday
Job Qualifications
