The role of Services Specialist within the Air Force Reserve is multifaceted and critical to the smooth operation of Air Force bases worldwide. Services Specialists are responsible for the management and operation of essential facilities such as hotels, restaurants, and fitness centers. These professionals play an integral part in maintaining the quality of life and readiness of Airmen by ensuring access to vital services, including physical fitness programs, food service, lodging, and recreational activities. The Services Specialist is tasked with managing budgets for various service programs, overseeing the effectiveness of service and retail operations, and coordinating with unit commanders to support unit readiness. Moreover, these individuals establish and supervise programs that encompass food, lodging, and sports facilities, as well as manage and direct Force Support operations.

In addition to their operational responsibilities, Services Specialists actively promote physical fitness to maintain unit readiness and support the overall mission of the Air Force. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with base personnel and families. As a part-time position with a pay starting from $50,000 per year, this role offers meaningful work that directly impacts the mission success of the Air Force Reserve and the well-being of Airmen and their families. The position involves travel as the work location is on the road, allowing Services Specialists to gain diverse experience across various bases and environments. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED with 15 college credits, or GED
  • knowledge of accounting procedures and management principles
  • no record of disciplinary action for financial responsibility, shoplifting, larceny, petty larceny or theft
  • ability to speak distinctly
  • never been convicted by courts-martial
  • never been convicted and sentenced to confinement by a civilian court
  • completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
  • must be between the ages of 17 and 39
