The Food Service Supervisor position at Aramark is a full-time role designed for motivated individuals seeking to advance their careers in the food services industry. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead a passionate Food Services Team, overseeing daily operations and collaborating closely with team members and management. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating activities, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and ensuring efficient and effective service that aligns with company policies and customer expectations.

Your role will involve producing and maintaining staff work schedules, preparing production packets including production sheets and recipes, and directing daily activities to keep operations running smoothly. You will supervise employees, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations aimed at promoting employee growth, morale, and teamwork. Ensuring that food items are stored safely, served according to menu specifications, and that your department adheres strictly to health and safety regulations will be core responsibilities.

Additionally, you will be tasked with inventory management, ordering supplies for accurate production, and maintaining equipment through proper maintenance logs and preventative checklists. You will play a vital role in maintaining a hazard-free environment and ensuring that all food safety and temperature logs are completed with necessary corrective actions. Your role may also extend to supporting catering events, including occasional night and weekend shifts, and performing cashier duties when needed.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service or supervisory roles preferred
  • must complete or have completed a sanitation course within the first year
  • ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions
  • strong communication skills
  • basic math skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including occasional nights and weekends
  • ability to train and mentor staff
  • maintain a safe work environment
  • proficiency in multitasking and problem solving
  • physical ability to perform duties related to food service supervision

Job Duties

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and may prepare production packets (production sheets and recipes)
  • direct daily activities
  • maintain food production that ensures the safety and quality of food according to policies, procedures, and department requirements
  • ensure that food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment
  • maintain all serving schedules
  • ensure that all food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner following Aramark policies and procedures
  • maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes and regulations
  • maintain accurate inventory on a weekly basis
  • prepare orders as needed to ensure accurate production for location
  • supervise and evaluate employees
  • counsel
  • promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork
  • maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment
  • train/mentor other food service workers
  • maintain logs on all maintenance required on equipment within the department
  • ensure all food safety/temperature logs are completed with appropriate corrective action, as necessary

  • recommend replacement of existing equipment to meet needs of facility

  • perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager whenever his/her skill and/or experience would be vital to initiate, coordinate, or complete any given program
  • fill in for absent employees at location, as necessary
  • maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm they are prepared and delivered on time
  • be able to work occasional night and weekend catered events
  • attend food service meetings with staff
  • maintain communication with staff (including office staff, e-mail, phone calls, inter-office mail, etc)
  • perform cashier duties as the need arises
  • promote good public relations
