The Microbulk Driver position based in Fresno, CA, is a vital role within Airgas, focused on the safe and efficient transportation of bulk liquid gases using company-provided trucks. This role is full-time, offering competitive pay ranging from $25 to $28 per hour, dependent on experience, with additional bonus potential. The work schedule is a stable Monday through Friday day shift, promoting work-life balance. Microbulk Drivers are ambassadors for Airgas, loaded with the responsibility of managing pressurized bulk liquid gases, delivering to a diverse customer base, and maintaining positive customer relationships. This hands-on role includes operating straight trucks for cylinder hauling and requires adherence to strict safety and regulatory protocols.
The role demands a high level of safety consciousness, requiring drivers to consistently use personal protective equipment, monitor environmental hazards, and comply with Department of Transportation regulations. Vehicle care and inspection before and after shifts are crucial aspects, ensuring operational excellence and safety. The Microbulk Driver manages the loading, delivery, and unloading of cylinders and related supplies efficiently, utilizing Airgas digital tools for managing manifests and collecting electronic signatures, streamlining service delivery and customer interactions.
This position is highly interactive, involving physical tasks such as assisting with deliveries on customer sites, often employing hand carts and other material handling equipment. Candidates must be prepared for a physically demanding role, capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and moving more than 125 lbs with aid. Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT and Airbrake endorsements
- Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card and endorsements
- No more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in last three years
- No driving under influence of alcohol or controlled substances in last seven years
- Ability to work in a drug-free environment
- Ability to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with material handling equipment
- At least one year of CDL driving experience in last five years or trucking school certificate from last 12 months
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT and Airbrake endorsements
- Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card, and endorsements
- No more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in last three years
- No driving under influence of alcohol or controlled substances in last seven years
- Ability to work in a drug-free environment
- Ability to lift 75 lbs regularly and move more than 125 lbs with material handling equipment
- Minimum one year CDL driving experience in last five years or certificate of completion from trucking school within last 12 months
- Forklift experience preferred
Job Duties
- Ensure safety and compliance with company guidelines and DOT regulations
- Conduct vehicle care and inspections before and after shifts
- Efficiently load, deliver, and unload bulk liquid gas tankers and cylinders
- Utilize digital tools for managing manifests and collecting customer signatures
