The Microbulk Driver role based in Elk Grove Village, IL, with additional operational locations in Aurora, Jericho, and Gilberts, IL, is a critical position responsible for the safe transportation and handling of compressed gas cylinders, including the filling of industrial Microbulk tanks and bulk cryogenic logistics. This position offers an hourly pay rate of $31, with a standard Monday through Friday work schedule, and start times ranging from 4 to 6 a.m. Additional incentives include a Safety Driver Bonus and Gainshare Bonus paid quarterly. As a Microbulk Driver, your primary duties include the safe filling and delivery of pressurized bulk liquid gas tankers, completion of meticulous documentation compliant with DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations, and the maintenance of positive customer relations. The role demands adherence to rigorous safety protocols including daily vehicle inspections, use of personal protective equipment, and immediate reporting of incidents. Additionally, you will assist in route evaluations to improve efficiency and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push or pull up to 800 pounds, often working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The successful candidate will be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid Class B or higher CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, and have at least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the past five years.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid Class B or better CDL
  • Must have Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
  • Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check
  • Must have at least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years
  • DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs, and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs with the use of equipment
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures
  • Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Adherence to safety regulations and policies

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Safely fill pressurized bulk liquid gas tankers and manage loading, delivery, and unloading of supplies on assigned routes including Microbulk tanks
  • Record all deliveries and pick-ups on load manifests and obtain customer signatures
  • Ensure vehicle documentation is accurate and compliant with DOT, OSHA, and Airgas SAFECOR safety regulations
  • Establish and maintain positive customer relations and promptly address service inquiries and complaints
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily inspections of vehicles documenting deficiencies
  • Monitor customer units for safe and efficient operation and adhere to all safety rules and PPE requirements
  • Assist management with route evaluations to improve efficiency and utilize On-Board Computers for data accuracy
  • Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks and support dock operations as needed
