Job Description

IEH Laboratories is a recognized leader in food safety testing and analysis, dedicated to providing reliable and accurate laboratory services that help ensure the safety and quality of food products. With a strong reputation built on scientific expertise and rigorous standards, IEH Laboratories serves various industries including food manufacturing, processing, and distribution. Their Modesto, CA facility is a key part of their nationwide network, equipped with advanced technology and staffed by highly trained professionals committed to delivering timely results and exceptional customer service.

As a part of the food safety industry, IEH Laboratories plays a crucial role in protecting public health by identifying contaminants, pathogens, and allergens in food samples. This commitment to excellence is reflected in their hiring of skilled microbiologists who bring a combination of scientific knowledge and practical laboratory skills to the team. Currently, IEH Laboratories is seeking a Microbiologist for the 2nd Shift at their Modesto location. This full-time role offers an hourly wage between $21.00 and $23.00 and provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid time off, holidays, bereavement leave, and retirement savings options.

The Microbiologist position involves a variety of critical laboratory tasks aimed at maintaining the highest quality standards for food safety testing. Key responsibilities include analyzing food samples using PCR and immunoassay techniques to detect pathogens, performing microbial enumerations, preparing media, entering data accurately into laboratory systems, generating detailed reports, and contributing to quality control processes. The role requires a detail-oriented individual comfortable working in a fast-paced environment who excels at multitasking while maintaining strict adherence to aseptic technique.

IEH Laboratories values strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as the position requires clear documentation of findings and collaborative work with other team members. The shift schedule for this role is either Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, accommodating operational needs and providing a consistent work-life balance for employees. Given the laboratory environment, applicants with moderate to severe food allergies are discouraged from applying due to potential exposure to allergens.

Candidates who hold a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or a related field and possess proficiency with data entry and computer applications will find this position a rewarding opportunity to grow within a respected organization focused on food safety. IEH Laboratories offers an inclusive workplace embracing equal opportunity principles, encouraging veterans and individuals with disabilities to apply. Joining IEH Laboratories means becoming part of a dedicated team striving to protect consumers and advance food safety through cutting-edge laboratory science and technology.
