Job Description

Kroger, starting from a small grocery store in Cincinnati over a century ago, has blossomed into the largest grocer in the United States with nearly 2,800 stores operating in 35 states under 28 different brand names. This well-established company has a rich history of serving communities and customers by focusing on food, people, and innovation. Kroger takes pride in creating memorable experiences for customers and employees alike, emphasizing respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety as its core values. As a family-oriented company, Kroger is committed to supporting its associates' growth and well-being, providing exceptional opportunities for career advancement and comprehensive benefits.

As an Area Supervisor in Kroger's manufacturing division, you will play a critical role in coordinating, planning, and supervising the daily operations within an assigned department of the manufacturing plant. Your responsibilities focus on ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all activities with the aim of enhancing plant performance in Safety, Quality, and Reliability (SQR). This position requires a keen understanding of manufacturing processes, scheduling, and team leadership, particularly in enforcing best practices across the plant that meet both regulatory and corporate standards. You will oversee direct area supervisors and associates, ensuring adherence to proper safety measures and quality requirements.

In this role, you will validate production scheduling to maximize line efficiency, minimize labor costs, and communicate effectively with various service groups regarding needs such as changeovers, preventive maintenance, and material supplies that support production goals. A key component of your job will be identifying and communicating quality or safety defects promptly up the organizational chain for swift remediation. You are tasked with upholding Kroger’s Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles and actively participating in plant safety processes.

As an Area Supervisor, you will also be responsible for managing and coaching your team, providing clear guidance, conducting performance reviews, and delivering constructive feedback to promote growth and accountability within your department. Your ability to perform essential functions safely, either independently or with accommodation, demonstrates commitment to a safe working environment and a culture of continuous improvement. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment that values the contributions of its associates and provides pathways for professional development.

At Kroger, you can expect flexible scheduling options in full- or part-time roles, paid time off including holiday and sick pay, robust health coverage plans including medical, dental, vision, and prescription benefits, as well as emotional and financial assistance through programs like the Employee Assistance Program and Goldman Sachs Ayco. Additional benefits include generous associate discounts, industry-leading tuition reimbursement up to $21,000 for continuing education, and wide-ranging training programs that foster diverse career pathways. If you are driven, value a collaborative work culture, and are eager to grow with the nation’s largest grocer, Kroger welcomes your application to join their family-focused team.
