Labcorp is actively seeking a Metabolism Dose Formulations Chemist to join our specialized Metabolism studies team in Madison, WI. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with working hours from 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The role primarily focuses on the daily preparation of vehicles and formulations necessary for dose formulations used in metabolism studies. This position plays a vital role in supporting research study objectives by preparing accurate and reliable test article formulations tailored to the needs of each study.
As a Metabolism Dose Formulations Chemist, the candidate will collaborate closely with scientific staff and clients to understand and research formulation requirements for nonstandard test article preparations. The role requires the ability to adapt existing techniques or develop new ones based on specific study needs. Providing technical guidance and oversight within the Dose Formulation laboratory is essential, along with review and documentation of data and prepared materials to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment is a top priority, as is assisting in client visits and study initiations to foster strong client relationships and ensure smooth project execution.
The ideal candidate will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting ways to maximize data quality, laboratory efficiency, and overall personnel productivity. This role demands teamwork and the ability to identify and act upon potential issues related to protocols, SOPs, dose preparations, and schedules. Safety is paramount, requiring diligent handling of both known and unknown hazardous chemicals, along with adherence to safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to recognize deviations from expected results and collaborate with colleagues to develop appropriate corrective plans. Implementation of novel mixing procedures and equipment may be part of the responsibilities, requiring flexibility and willingness to learn new methodologies. Job Requirements
- BS/BA degree required in chemistry, biology, or related life science
- 1or more years of laboratory experience
Job Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in chemistry, biology, or related life science
- Knowledge of GLPs and regulatory agency guidelines (e.g. FDA, EPA, etc.)
- 1 or more years of laboratory experience
Job Duties
- Interact with scientific staff and client to research formulation requirements for nonstandard test article preparations
- Recommend modifications in formulation methods or procedures
- Adapt techniques to new procedures or particular needs as directed
- Provide technical guidance and oversight in the Dose Formulation laboratory
- Review data and prepared materials
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist in client visits and study initiations
- Make suggestions to continually maximize data quality as well as the efficiency of the personnel and laboratory areas
- Work well in team environment
- Identify and take appropriate action with problems, potential problems with protocols, SOPs, dose preparations, and schedules
