The role of a Merry Maids Cleaner involves professionally cleaning customer homes using the company’s specialized cleaning products and procedures. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a genuine commitment to quality customer service. Employees in this role are expected to follow Merry Maids' unique cleaning methods to ensure homes are left looking and smelling freshly cleaned and groomed. The pay rate starts at a guaranteed $15 per hour, with commissioned employees earning up to $18 or more per hour. As a cleaner, you will carry cleaning products and equipment between the office, vehicle, and customer homes and perform tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, washing floors on hands and knees, cleaning kitchen appliances, sanitizing bathrooms, and moving furniture to clean underneath.

Moreover, the role demands physical stamina to handle tasks like lifting up to 20 pounds, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, dusting at different heights, and performing wet and dry cleaning duties. Cleaners also contribute to maintaining a pleasant and professional appearance of the office and work collaboratively with the team to meet customer expectations. Attendance at weekly staff meetings and fulfilling other related duties as assigned are also essential components of this position. Job Requirements

Ability to withstand regular physical contact with dog and cat hair, mold, dust, mildew and cleaning solutions
Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds of equipment in and out of an average of 4 homes a day, but as many as 6 homes a day
This may include climbing stairs while carrying equipment
Ability to load and unload equipment from cars
Ability to perform wet-work on the knees as needed to clean kitchen and bathroom floors, showers and tubs
Wipe countertops at waist height
Bend for toilets and finishing showers and tubs at knee height
Reach shoulder height or above to finish the rooms
Perform dry-work with the ability to reach, pull, and stoop to make beds
Reach, lift and pull to operate a vacuum cleaner that weighs up to 12 pounds
Carry and operate a portable vacuum that weighs 6 pounds
Dust furniture from floor to overhead
Dusting will involve bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and moving small furniture
Valid driver's license (Team Captains only)
Ability to pass criminal background check
Ability to pass motor vehicle records check
Ability to pass drug screening

Job Qualifications

Ability to differentiate between variously colored cleaning products by identifying the color or product name
Ability to define specific uses of cleaning products
Ability to read cleaning instructions indicated on customized service reports
Ability to communicate with the Team Captain to ensure the customers' expectations are met

Job Duties

Use Merry Maids' cleaning products and procedures to clean, dust cobwebs, clean all hanging light fixtures, and dust baseboards and windowsills each cleaning
Use Merry Maids' cleaning products and procedures to clean, sanitize, and deodorize all bathroom fixtures, showers, tubs, toilets, sinks, mirrors and vanities
Use Merry Maids' cleaning products and procedures to clean kitchen appliances, counters, cabinets, tables and chairs
Vacuum stairways and vacuum or sweep and then wash all hard surface floors on hands and knees using Merry Maids' products and procedures
Move all reasonably moveable furniture in rooms to clean under and behind
Vacuum all upholstered furniture, including under all cushions each cleaning
Carry cleaning products and equipment to and from office, vehicle, and customers' homes
Assist in maintaining clean and fresh appearance of the office
Assist Team Captain in refilling cleaning kit and perform required equipment maintenance at the end of the workday
Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and contribute to the overall team effort of the company including being in uniform, dependable and on time
Respect and understanding for co-workers
Contribute to the overall goal of maintaining quality customer service
Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings
Perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned or requested
