Job Description

Mercy Retirement & Care Center, located in Oakland, California, is a distinguished senior care establishment with a rich history spanning over 150 years. Situated on a lush and serene campus, Mercy Retirement & Care Center offers a comprehensive range of services including assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation. Their commitment to delivering exceptional, person-centered care has made them a leader in the senior living community. At Mercy Retirement & Care Center, the culture is deeply rooted in respect, integrity, and dedication to both residents and team members. This environment promotes collaboration, innovation, and compassion, ensuring that every aspect of care and service is tailored to enhance the quality of life for their residents.

The Housekeeper role at Mercy Retirement & Care Center plays a vital part in maintaining this standard of excellence. Housekeepers contribute directly to the comfort and well-being of the residents by ensuring that all accommodations and shared spaces are meticulously clean and well-maintained. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Housekeepers also assist with laundry services occasionally, maintain housekeeping carts and closets, and keep equipment in good working order. The role is essential in creating a welcoming and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors alike.

This position offers flexible scheduling with full-time and on-call shifts available, providing a competitive wage range of $20 to $21 per hour. Mercy Retirement & Care Center seeks candidates who have a positive attitude and a passion for delivering the highest level of customer service to seniors. While previous experience in a senior living or hospitality environment is preferred, it is not a strict requirement, allowing motivated individuals with the right disposition to thrive and grow within the organization. The role also necessitates meeting certain physical requirements, including the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally. Candidates must comply with state and local guidelines regarding CPR and First Aid training, background checks, drug screenings, and other pre-employment requirements such as physical exams, fingerprinting, and TB testing.

Joining Mercy Retirement & Care Center means becoming part of a community that values excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care. This role offers an opportunity not only to work but to make a meaningful impact daily in the lives of older adults. It is an ideal position for those looking to build a rewarding career in senior care, contributing to a positive and supportive environment where every team member’s effort contributes to the overall success and well-being of the residents.
