Job Description
ECMD is a 100% employee-owned company with a mission to improve the lives of its employees. Founded by innovative entrepreneurs who established the modern building materials global supply chain, ECMD’s culture is deeply rooted in small-town, rural, southern values that emphasize honesty, integrity, and a down-to-earth approach. This unique company culture supports a transparent work environment where employee ownership fosters a strong sense of commitment and pride. ECMD operates by partnering with big-box retail and professional lumber yard customers on a nationwide scale, facilitating a world-class supply chain for builders, remodelers, finish carpenters, and consumers. Their offerings range from simple construction materials needed for home projects to those necessary for creating dream homes.
The company has grown into a strategic integrated portfolio consisting of 8 operating divisions, including EastCoast Mouldings, Klumb Forest Products, Crown Heritage Stairs, ECMD Distribution, Arndt & Herman Building Products, Clifton Moulding Co., Madison Lumber Company, and Falls City Lumber Company. This diversification allows ECMD to maintain a broad product offering and a strong presence in the building materials supply industry.
The position available at ECMD involves responsibilities within the merchandising, management, and stocking of inventory including millwork and other building products such as mouldings, columns, lumber, stairparts, and more, specifically within Lowe’s retail stores. The role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory data using technological tools like iPhones or handheld devices for order submission and stock management. It requires the representative to ensure proper merchandising, signage, and product display to enhance sales performance.
The job demands close interaction with suppliers and customers to promote sales growth and maintain solid relationships, making customer satisfaction a top priority. The role includes daily travel within a designated geographical area using a company-provided vehicle, necessitating a good driving history. The position is well suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Candidates must be prepared to manage physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds repeatedly, and work a flexible schedule as required.
ECMD offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a company vehicle, paid holidays, paid time off through MyTime, bereavement leave, and access to medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees benefit from a 401k plan and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), reflecting the company’s dedication to employee welfare both in and outside the workplace. This is an outstanding opportunity for candidates seeking a stable and rewarding career in the building materials industry with a company committed to values and employee ownership.
