Job Description
Retail Merchandising Services, Inc. (RMS) is a nationally recognized company specializing in providing high-quality merchandising services to a wide variety of retailers across the United States. With a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, RMS has established itself as a trusted partner to retail chains and independent stores alike, helping them maintain attractive and efficient product displays, audit in-store stock, and manage planogram compliance. As a part-time employee of RMS, you will enjoy the flexibility to set your own schedule while contributing to retail environments in your local community. RMS values professional growth, reliable partnerships, and creating a supportive framework for its merchandising representatives to succeed in a dynamic retail landscape.
The role of Retail Merchandising Representative at RMS involves servicing retail stores within a 15-mile radius of your home, providing an excellent opportunity for those who love retail but prefer a flexible work arrangement. This position offers varying weekly hours, typically averaging between 6 and 11 hours per week, with workload fluctuations depending on the time of year. Merchandisers are assigned to complete projects on a weekly, bi-weekly, or one-time basis, granting a work-life balance that suits individuals seeking part-time employment with control over their weekly schedule.
As a Retail Merchandising Representative, you will be responsible for a broad range of duties including stocking and organizing products on the sales floor, auditing product placement to ensure accuracy, applying stickers or signage to products, collecting data, setting up promotional displays, and resetting planograms. The role requires excellent communication skills to maintain respectful and professional relationships with store personnel and RMS colleagues. Merchandisers must be proactive in problem solving, managing their workflow independently, and using the RMS mobile app and web portal to report all completed work with detailed information and photos.
Compensation for this position includes an hourly rate of $13.25 during both in-store and online training periods. Additional reimbursement is available for mileage if working outside the local store area and paid drive time under certain circumstances. Benefits available to eligible employees include pay increases based on tenure, a 401k plan with company match, preventive medical insurance, dental and vision coverage, voluntary long-term disability, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity plans, and voluntary life insurance. RMS also offers access to an employee discount and rewards program, flexible scheduling, paid training, convenient mobile reporting, reimbursement for smart device usage, and an employee referral bonus program.
This is an ideal position for individuals who enjoy working independently within the retail environment, are detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy. With the freedom to design your own schedule and work in stores close to home, this role is well suited to those seeking supplemental income, flexible part-time work, or an entry point into the retail merchandising industry. If you have a dependable vehicle, are comfortable with using technology such as smartphones for reporting, and appreciate a supportive employer offering growth and benefits, RMS could be the perfect fit for your career goals.
