Job Description
O'Reilly Auto Parts is a leading retailer in the automotive aftermarket parts industry, known for its commitment to superior customer service and quality product offerings. Established as a trusted name across numerous communities, O'Reilly has built a reputation for fostering positive work environments that promote professional growth and stability. The company prides itself on its strong growth trajectory and a company culture that emphasizes a promote-from-within philosophy, encouraging employees to develop their careers alongside the organization. With a focus on both employee welfare and customer satisfaction, O'Reilly Auto Parts offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that underlines its commitment to an inclusive and supportive workplace.
The role of a Merchandiser and Cashier at O'Reilly Auto Parts is integral to maintaining the smooth daily operations of the retail store. This full-time position involves a dynamic combination of customer service, merchandising, and transactional duties aimed at enhancing the customer experience and supporting overall store performance. The hourly wage for this role ranges from $16.90 to $24.90, reflecting competitive pay that at least matches the minimum wage standards by location. Additionally, employees may receive further financial incentives through annual or quarterly performance bonuses and various premiums based on schedule, store location, season, or specific work conditions.
As a Merchandiser, you will be the welcoming face that greets customers, assisting them in locating products or directing them to specialists for more detailed parts assistance. Your responsibilities include stocking, pricing, and organizing merchandise in adherence to company planograms and visual standards. Attention to detail is crucial as you keep the sales floor orderly and appealing, manage sale signage, and ensure promotional materials are current and properly displayed. You will also engage in inventory tasks such as stock adjustments, cycle counts, and returns of overstock items. Security is an important aspect of the position, requiring vigilance to deter shoplifting and maintain front-floor safety.
The Cashier role complements these duties by handling customer transactions efficiently and courteously, including processing payments by various methods and managing merchandise returns. Flexibility in assisting at the express lane during busy periods is essential, showcasing your multitasking and customer service skills. Knowledge of product and pricing is beneficial, as is the ability to work within a team to complete weekly goals and store tasks.
O'Reilly Auto Parts values communication skills and organizational aptitude, with a preference for candidates who are bilingual, particularly fluent in Spanish, which enhances service to a diverse customer base. Previous experience in cashiering or stocking and the ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle are considered advantageous but not mandatory. The company’s culture of equal employment opportunity ensures a respectful, accommodating environment for all employees, including those with disabilities who may require reasonable accommodations.
This role not only offers a competitive wage but also access to an extensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with employer contributions starting from day one, paid time off, educational assistance programs, and health and wellbeing initiatives. These benefits underscore O'Reilly Auto Parts' dedication to employee welfare and long-term career development. Joining as a Merchandiser and Cashier provides the chance to be part of a strong team in a thriving company where your contributions are valued and growth is supported.
