The role of Store Team Member, internally referred to as Merchandiser, is pivotal to the success of each Total Wine & More store. This position centers around maximizing product inventory through various merchandising responsibilities such as processing incoming freight, organizing stock, and creating attractive product displays. Store Team Members also play an essential role in supporting the company’s growing digital business by fulfilling online orders and assisting with in-store and curbside pickup or delivery services, which may include driving responsibilities if assigned. While primarily part-time and full-time roles focus on merchandising, employees can expect to engage in additional duties including sales, front end, and customer service as needed. Given the dynamic nature of retail, this job requires flexibility and adaptability to meet customer needs and ensure an outstanding shopping experience.
Store Team Members are tasked with delivering exceptional customer service by engaging shoppers warmly and providing personalized assistance while sharing knowledge about products, promotions, and loyalty programs. This position requires ongoing participation in training sessions, especially related to wine, spirits, and beer, to build expertise and enhance the overall customer experience. Maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant store environment is also a critical responsibility, with employees expected to adhere strictly to all legal regulations governing alcohol sales. The role demands physical stamina as it involves standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions as needed.

Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Walk bend down repeatedly and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
- Ability to safely lift load and handle cases and pallets
- Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs overhead and repeatedly
- May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of experience 1+ years of experience in a retail setting preferred
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires including evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- Maximize product inventory including processing freight organizing and distributing inventory pulling and stocking merchandise building displays and end caps placing signage and supporting digital business operations by fulfilling orders and assisting with in-store and curbside pick-up and delivery services including driving and making deliveries if assigned
- Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers engaging to build relationships and informing about products and services
- Participate in wine spirits and beer training to build product knowledge
- Maintain knowledge of advertisements promotions and loyalty programs
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment
- Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned
- Load and deliver orders in a safe and professional manner following company policies and procedures and abiding by all traffic and safety laws if delivery is added as an essential job function
