The Donated Goods Retail department, where the Merchandise Processor position is situated, plays a crucial role in handling the donations that fuel Goodwill's retail stores and subsequently fund the community initiatives.\n\nThe Merchandise Processor position, classified as a non-exempt role reporting to the Production Manager, is an essential part of the daily operations within the Donated Goods Retail department. The merchandise processor is primarily responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all donations received by the store. This involves sorting, hanging, pricing, tagging, stocking, rotating product, and adhering strictly to production and quality standards established by Goodwill Keystone Area. The role requires a strong focus on meeting preset production and sales goals, while also ensuring excellent customer service to shoppers, donors, and fellow team members.\n\nThis position demands a flexible and adaptable individual, able to assist with overall daily store operations beyond specific donation processing tasks. The processor must be physically capable of working in an open warehouse environment subject to varying weather and temperature conditions. In addition to physical demands, the role requires attention to detail for quality control and the ability to use equipment and technology relevant to merchandise processing. Job Requirements
- No formal education necessary
- Must be 18 years of age or older due to the demands of the position to ensure full availability for all required work shifts including the need for flexible scheduling across all store operating hours and to meet specific compliance requirements related to state and federal child labor laws
- Must meet qualitative and quantitative performance standards as established by organization
- Must be able to work in an open warehouse environment being exposed to various weather and temperature conditions including extreme heat humidity and cold
- Ability to stand continuously for more than 75 percent of the shift
- Ability to repeatedly bend forward or to the side 60 degrees to remove or place items into various carts for 50 percent of the shift
- Ability to stand continuously with the neck bent forward 30 degrees for more than 75 percent of the shift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds from ground level to waist level for 25 percent of the shift
- Ability to lift 25 pounds every few minutes for more than 75 percent of the shift
- Must be able to push and pull various carts requiring a force of 25 pounds a distance of 100 feet for 25 percent of the shift
- Ability to repetitively perform the same hand wrist and arm motions every few seconds for more than 75 percent of the shift
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends

Job Duties
- Process textile donations including sorting hanging pricing tagging and moving product to the sales floor to meet preset production and sales goals for the store
- Process donations of housewares electronics media shoes and other miscellaneous items including sorting pricing tagging and moving product to the sales floor to meet preset production and sales goals for the store
- Organize recover and rotate the sales floor as needed
- Follow all quality and production standards as set by Goodwill Keystone Area
- Track production daily and report to supervisor
- Be knowledgeable of daily weekly and monthly production and sales goals
- Select and identify appropriate items for Ecommerce department
- Ability to assist and have flexibility in the overall daily operations within the store
- Ensure that quality customer service is presented and provided in a timely and courteous manner to all customers donors and other employees
- Support promote and participate in organizational programs and special events
- Assist in any other assignments designated by management
- Adhere to all Goodwill Keystone Area manuals handbooks policies and procedures
- Contribute to the organization by supporting additional tasks and projects as needed
- Promote an environment of workplace safety ensuring that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to
- Communicate progress problems and concerns to the Production Manager
