Job Description
Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare (TCBHC) is a reputable and comprehensive provider of mental health and intellectual disability services operating primarily within Texas. Recognized for its commitment to community wellness, Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare offers accessible, compassionate, and innovative healthcare solutions aimed at improving mental health outcomes for diverse populations. With a strong focus on behavioral health, TCBHC collaborates extensively with local community resources, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and governmental agencies to deliver tailored mental health programs and services across multiple counties including Liberty, Montgomery, and Walker. The organization prides itself on fostering a work environment that promotes professional growth, inclusivity, and meaningful contributions in the field of behavioral health.
The Mental Health First Aid Outreach Coordinator plays a critical role in expanding awareness and training efforts related to Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) across the Tri-County service areas. This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting the Mental Health First Aid initiatives under the oversight of the Director of Strategic Development. The Coordinator works closely with certified MHFA trainers to ensure ongoing compliance with training standards and certification requirements. Key aspects of the role include administrative management of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) MHFA contract, including contract compliance, budget oversight, and financial reporting. The Outreach Coordinator develops and maintains strategic partnerships with educational service centers, higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, hospitals, community leaders, and first responder agencies to expand the reach and effectiveness of MHFA trainings.
The role demands a high level of professionalism as the primary liaison between TCBHC and its community stakeholders, ensuring that the organization is represented expertly. Given the travel requirements (a minimum of 50% travel with occasional overnight stays), candidates must be comfortable and flexible with a dynamic work schedule, potentially including evenings and weekends. This position not only supports the technical aspects of MHFA programming but also serves as a community advocate, promoting mental health literacy and reducing stigma through education and outreach. The Outreach Coordinator reports directly to senior leadership and is instrumental in meeting the organization's goals for mental health education and community engagement.
Compensation for this position varies based on licensure and credentials, with hourly rates starting at approximately $26.87 for licensed professionals and $24.43 for qualified non-licensed candidates with related experience, translating to annual salaries of roughly $55,895 and $50,822 respectively. This employment opportunity is located in Conroe, Texas, with the organization promoting a smoke-free working environment since 2016.
Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare provides an attractive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; short-term disability; company-paid life and disability insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts (HSA/FSA); retirement options with company match; employee assistance programs focused on mental health and wellness; and various incentives such as annual commission bonuses, student loan forgiveness eligibility, and mileage reimbursement. The organization values work-life balance, offering paid company holidays, personal days, paid time off accrued from day one, casual dress code, and the opportunity to live and work in desirable communities such as Conroe, The Woodlands, and Willis in Texas. The culture at TCBHC emphasizes meaningful contribution to mental health and intellectual disability services, empowering employees to make a positive impact in their communities while enjoying supportive and rewarding workplace benefits.
