This position is for a part-time Houseworker based on-site at the Worcester university campus. The role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $22.29, with the exact offer commensurate with the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. Scheduled shifts run from Sunday through Saturday, specifically from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, covering an evening shift of 8 hours. Additionally, this role might be eligible for a signing bonus, details of which would be provided by the recruitment team during the interview process.

As a Houseworker at UMass Memorial Health, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment across various areas of the hospital and related buildings. Your responsibilities will encompass executing thorough cleaning procedures in patient rooms, surgical units, nursing stations, isolation areas, lavatories, lounges, offices, corridors, and other auxiliary spaces. Beyond routine cleaning, the position requires proficiency in specialized tasks such as high dusting, spot cleaning of walls, windows, and doors, disinfecting horizontal surfaces, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, and emptying trash receptacles. The role also involves burnishing and cleaning floors using advanced floor machines to uphold the facility's pristine condition.

This position also demands attention to detail when performing 'check out' cleaning following patient discharges or transfers, including bed making. The Houseworker will also be responsible for moving furniture and setting up meeting rooms as required, supporting the operational needs of the facility. Transporting trash from utility rooms to compactor pickup points ensures the maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital.
