Job Description
REM Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, is a dedicated organization providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sevita has been a leader in home and community-based specialized health care for over 50 years, serving more than 50,000 individuals across the United States with a compassionate, individualized approach. At REM Community Services, the belief is that every person has the right to live well and experience a fulfilling life. This ethos also extends to their team members, where meaningful careers are fostered within a mission-driven environment. The organization values diversity, inclusion, and equality, ensuring an open and welcoming atmosphere for all employees and participants alike.
The company is currently offering a full-time caregiver position with competitive pay at $21.00 per hour. This role is crucial in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives by assisting with daily activities and helping them reach their developmental goals. As a caregiver at Sevita, you will be part of a supportive team that values patient-centered care, trust, and empowerment. You’ll help individuals engage in community activities, develop life skills like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition, and navigate their personal hygiene and health needs. This position requires compassion, patience, reliability, and responsibility, as well as the ability to work with participants who may have behavioral challenges or complex medical needs.
The caregiving role not only offers a chance to make a real difference in people’s lives but also provides job security at a well-established and growing company. Employees benefit from comprehensive training, ongoing learning, and development opportunities, and supervisor support focused on both participant wellbeing and employee career growth. Sevita’s commitment to investing in its workforce ensures that every staff member is well-prepared and confident in their role. Benefits include a full benefits package for full-time employees with health coverage, paid time off with holiday pay, a 401(k) plan with a 3% company match, and a supportive community network. This stability, combined with the meaningful nature of the work, creates a workplace where team members can thrive and enjoy a career well lived. Joining Sevita means being part of a passionate team dedicated to enhancing care, promoting independence, and creating opportunities for both individuals served and employees.
