As part of its commitment to excellent care, Arrow Senior Living is currently seeking a dedicated Memory Care Homemaker to join their team on a full-time basis. This role is essential in ensuring that the memory care neighborhood maintains an inviting and comfortable atmosphere for its residents. The Memory Care Homemaker is not only responsible for the cleanliness and homeliness of all apartments and common areas but also plays an integral role in the day-to-day dining experience. They prepare and serve family-style meals, encouraging residents to actively participate in mealtime activities which fosters a sense of community and belonging.
The individual in this position acts as a vital link between residents and the community, ensuring that hydration and snack times occur throughout the day while also providing meaningful social engagement experiences. With a starting wage of $18 per hour, this role operates on a schedule from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, offering a stable and rewarding work schedule.
This position is ideal for someone who has a passion for serving seniors, particularly those with memory care needs, and who exhibits a professional demeanor, a positive attitude, and a willingness to engage actively with residents. Job Requirements
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- high school diploma or equivalent
- professional appearance and conduct
- proficiency in English communication
- positive and energetic attitude
- physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
- ability to frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds
- ability to assist residents with mobility and after falls
- pass a criminal background check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency
- positive and energetic attitude
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- prior experience in senior care or related field is a plus
- basic knowledge of memory care practices
- ability to engage residents in meaningful interactions
Job Duties
- Be a keeper of the home responsible for creating an inviting, comfortable, homelike, and tidy atmosphere in all apartments and common area spaces
- be a mealtime maven present in the dining room to prepare and serve family-style dining, guiding residents to participate by setting tables and cleaning up after meals
- be a snack specialist ensuring all residents have access to snacks and hydration three times a day
- be a caring connector providing extra hands in the neighborhood to engage residents and offer meaningful experiences
- assist residents with sitting, standing, walking, and after falls
- maintain cleanliness and safety standards in memory care areas
- collaborate with team members to promote a positive environment
