In the role of Valeo Coordinator at Fox Ridge NLR, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining an organized and diverse schedule of individual and group activities designed to meet the cultural, spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual needs of residents. The position emphasizes sustaining and promoting each resident’s potential and their sense of usefulness to themselves and the community. The Valeo Coordinator will be a vital link in delivering outstanding service to residents, their families, and visitors by effectively communicating with team members and proactively seeking feedback through resident surveys. Responsibilities also include preparing activity schedules in advance, implementing a full Valeo program seven days a week, and occasionally driving the community van to facilitate outings. The coordinator collaborates closely with community team members to ensure programming is comprehensive, engaging, and inclusive. Additionally, the role involves supporting programming in other departments when needed, maintaining celebratory traditions like resident birthdays, and participating in wellness planning by communicating resident observations to the Wellness Director.

Job Requirements
- An associate degree from an accredited college or university, or proof of satisfactory completion of two years of college
- Two years of full-time experience in the recreation field in an older adult population
- State driver license required with clean driving record
- Must complete all HR policies and procedures for Community driver
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Basic typing skills
- Knowledge of MS Word and other pertinent software
- Physical ability to bend and reach
- Physical ability to push, pull and lift up to 40-50 pounds
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods
- Successful completion of company Dementia and specialized programming in-services
- Sincerely committed to working with older adults
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as assigned
- Must be in good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases
- Subject to background, criminal, and drug tests
- May be required to submit to random drug tests during employment
Job Qualifications
- An associate degree from an accredited college or university, or proof of satisfactory completion of two years of college, with major course of study in recreation or related field
- Two years of full-time experience in the recreation field in an older adult population
- State driver license required with clean driving record
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Basic typing skills and computer knowledge to include familiarity with MS Word and other pertinent software
- Physically able to bend and reach
- Physically able to push and pull and lift up to 40-50 pounds if necessary
- Physically able to stand for extended periods of time
- Successful completion of company Dementia and specialized programming in-services
Job Duties
- Provides outstanding services to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors
- Effectively communicates verbally and in writing to team members, families, and residents
- Conducts quarterly resident surveys, evaluating current activities and suggesting new ones to their supervisor
- Assists their supervisor in the preparation of a Schedule of Activities one month in advance of its implementation, which is amended when necessary to reflect changes
- Ensures that a full Valeo program and philosophy is implemented seven days a week
- Drives the van when necessary
- Assists with programming in Salus/AL department as needed
- Maintains resident Birthday List and delivers birthday cards to residents in a timely manner
- Works closely with appointed community team members to coordinate activities/programs
- Participates in the wellness planning of residents by communicating observations to the Wellness Director, both directly and at staff meetings
- Maintains a record of each resident's activities
- Posts the current monthly, weekly, and daily Schedule of Activities in public areas and at the wellness center, and distributes to department managers
- Notifies department managers in advance of work schedule variations
- Accommodates special events, evening, and weekend programs, etc., in work schedules
- Follows all emergency procedures
- Understands safety policies and procedures
