The Memberships & Private Events Manager position at the Spurs Club, located on-site in San Antonio, TX, is an exciting and dynamic role that embodies the company’s commitment to excellence. This position serves a dual function, responsible for both membership and private event sales as well as event execution and business development efforts. The successful candidate will be the primary ambassador of the Spurs Club, charged with accelerating membership growth, boosting profitability, and enhancing the overall member experience.

Key responsibilities encompass leading membership sales, retention programs, and engagement initiatives, alongside managing private event sales, overseeing flawless event execution, and driving strategic business development. The role requires a results-driven professional who consistently exceeds revenue targets through consultative sales and exceptional hospitality leadership. The candidate will engage high-value clients, develop compelling experience-driven propositions, and cultivate strong relationships with community leaders, businesses, and influencers to generate steady membership leads.

Moreover, the position involves designing and implementing referral programs, corporate memberships, and engaging calendar events that deepen member involvement and satisfaction. Private event responsibilities include full lifecycle event sales management, contract negotiation, and revenue optimization across food and beverage, room rentals, sponsorships, and ancillary offerings. The manager will collaborate cross-functionally with operations, culinary, marketing, and hospitality teams to deliver seamless, high-quality event experiences that align with Spurs Club’s standards.

Strategic business development and corporate partnerships form a critical part of this role. Building and sustaining relationships with local businesses, chambers, and associations will help grow club revenue channels while promoting the Spurs brand as a premier destination. Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • 5 – 7+ years in private clubs hospitality membership organizations event sales sports and entertainment luxury hospitality or business development
  • proficiency in microsoft office suite and experience with tripleseat or similar hospitality crm systems

Job Duties

  • develop and execute annual membership sales and retention strategies
  • conduct high-impact tours and presentations to convert prospective members
  • design and implement referral ambassador and corporate membership programs
  • serve as the primary relationship manager and trusted point of contact for all members
  • develop and execute a year-round calendar of curated member events and experiences
  • develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive sustained growth in private event revenue
  • proactively source and secure new business across corporate social nonprofit sports and entertainment segments
  • manage the full sales lifecycle from initial inquiry through event execution and post-event follow-ups
  • oversee the planning and flawless execution of all private events from concept through completion
  • collaborate cross-functionally with operations culinary marketing and hospitality teams to ensure seamless delivery
  • develop and grow corporate membership programs and sponsorship offerings to drive incremental revenue
  • build and maintain strategic partnerships with local businesses chambers associations and convention organizations
  • collaborate with marketing on membership campaigns event promotions and lead generation initiatives
  • own annual membership and private event revenue budgets
  • manage forecasting reporting and performance metrics
  • recruit train mentor and manage support staff as needed
