Job Description

Scissors & Scotch is an upscale barbershop and bar that blends classic grooming with a vibrant social atmosphere. Located in a bustling area, it offers not just haircuts but a unique experience inspired by the community spirit of the famous "Cheers" bar where everyone knows your name. The establishment caters to a diverse clientele from various backgrounds, all united by their appreciation for high-quality service and an inviting atmosphere. Scissors & Scotch prides itself on being upscale but approachable, maintaining an environment that is refined yet relaxed, making it a standout choice among local grooming and nightlife establishments.

The role of Membership Sales & Guest Experience Lead at Scissors & Scotch is vital to the continued success and growth of this unique business. This position is not your conventional front desk or lead role. Instead, as the Lounge Lead, you become the heart and soul of the lounge’s day-to-day operations and the cultural ambassador for the venue. You'll be responsible for setting the tone and energy of the space, ensuring each guest feels welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive until they depart. This leadership role involves coaching and developing the lounge team, managing the bar, and spearheading membership sales – an essential revenue stream – by fostering strong relationships with guests and delivering excellent hospitality.

In this position, you not only drive membership sales with confidence and knowledge but also inspire your team to do the same through consistent coaching and example-setting. You will uphold high standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and operational efficiency within the lounge and bar areas. Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining compliance with liquor laws including responsible service and age verification are also key responsibilities. The leadership extends to maintaining lounge performance metrics and reporting to upper management, as well as planning engaging events and activations that help nurture the community feel and business growth.

The successful candidate thrives in an upscale business environment and demonstrates strong personal integrity and people skills. A passion for sales that benefits the client genuinely and an ability to lead by example are crucial. While direct bar experience is not required, organizational skills and a willingness to learn bar management protocols are necessary. This full-time, 40-hour role includes working during peak hours and at least one weekend day, offering competitive hourly pay starting at $22.50, with monthly performance bonuses and regular pay increases based on performance. Benefits include flexible scheduling, paid time off, health, dental, and vision coverage, and opportunities for career advancement within the company.

Joining Scissors & Scotch as a Membership Sales & Guest Experience Lead means becoming part of a thriving business that values doing the right thing, personal growth, community, and creating memorable experiences for all its clients. It is a chance to develop leadership skills, enhance sales expertise in a membership-based setting, and contribute meaningfully to a company that celebrates success and shared wins.
