Job Description
Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows (BGCTM) is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people, particularly those who need support the most, to achieve their full potential as caring, responsible, and productive citizens. Celebrating over 50 years of service, BGCTM has continuously provided a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Through its numerous programs and initiatives, the Club focuses on fostering positive relationships, enhancing skills, and building a strong community spirit. The organization’s mission revolves around creating opportunities for youth development in a way that is inclusive and supportive, promoting lifelong success and well-being.
The Membership Aide position at BGCTM plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for members, parents, and visitors. This part-time role involves greeting individuals with a friendly and professional demeanor, providing essential information about the Club’s programs, and assisting with membership applications and processing accurately and efficiently. The Membership Aide helps maintain a safe and organized entrance by monitoring lobby activity to prevent unauthorized access, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter restricted or program areas. They also coordinate with program staff during member pick-up times, ensuring smooth and secure transitions.
This role offers flexible scheduling, well-suited to accommodate personal commitments or educational schedules, with afternoon shifts typically from 2:00 to 7:00 PM during the school year and noon to 6:00 PM during school breaks. The position is based at the Pennington Clubhouse located at 1300 Foster Drive, in a dynamic environment where teamwork and strong communication are valued.
BGCTM values its employees and provides extensive benefits, including enrollment in Nivati, a free mental health and wellbeing program, tuition reimbursement to support continuing education, paid time off for part-time workers, and a competitive starting wage of $14.50 per hour. Beyond compensation, the organization is committed to nurturing great futures not only for the youth it serves but also for its employees by fostering a supportive and growth-oriented workplace.
The successful Membership Aide will embody BGCTM’s core values of generosity, respectfulness, encouragement, accountability, and trustworthiness. These values guide all employees to maintain safety, foster positive experiences, and promote community involvement. BGCTM also provides on-the-job training to develop professional skills, but successful candidates should bring enthusiasm, energy, and a passion for contributing to the community. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly preferred, enhancing communication and inclusivity.
Further, BGCTM requires all hires to complete a background check, fingerprinting, and a drug screening to ensure the safety of its members and staff. Candidates must provide three references, which, if work experience is limited, can be non-family members over the age of 18 who can attest to their professionalism and character.
This position is ideal for individuals who are fun, energetic, interested in pursuing careers in data entry, billing, or accounts receivable, and who are committed to making a positive community impact. BGCTM prides itself on being a great place to work, where employees can live GREAT lives inspired by GREAT values that enhance both personal and professional fulfillment.
