Job Description

The University Corporation (TUC) is a non-profit auxiliary corporation affiliated with California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Its primary mission is to provide commercial and administrative services that support the academic, research, and creative efforts of the university’s students, faculty, and staff, while enhancing the quality of campus life. As a key auxiliary entity, TUC plays a vital role in facilitating various university initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering community engagement through its broad spectrum of services. This makes it a dynamic workplace with a commitment to service excellence and community support within the educational environment.

The Membership & Promotions Revenue Coordinator position at TUC's radio station KCSN in Northridge is a full-time, auxiliary role focused on managing key fundraising and promotional activities for the station. This position is instrumental in driving membership operations, assisting the promotions department, and supporting the production of on-air shows and various promotional events. The hourly pay rate is $29.96, reflecting the specialized nature of the work and the importance of the role to the station’s ongoing success.

This coordinator will work directly under station leadership to plan and execute pledge drives, manage donor interactions, and oversee the logistics and staffing of fundraising events. As the second in command during pledge drives, the coordinator plays a crucial leadership role. Beyond fundraising, the position requires significant involvement in promotions, including creating graphic content for social media, websites, and advertisements, as well as helping promote station events both internally and externally. Hosting duties during station events are also part of the work, requiring a confident and personable individual comfortable with public speaking and live audience engagement.

Technical expertise forms another core area of responsibility, as the coordinator must manage the station’s website, newsletters, and donation platforms. Skills in graphic design, website banner posting, and use of digital tools like Google Ad Manager and Mailchimp are essential. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to audio production, including creating radio spots, imaging, and occasionally hosting on-air shows. Flexibility is key, as the coordinator acts as a backup DJ, curates music playlists, and creates content aligned with the station’s AAA format.

This diverse set of duties requires a self-motivated individual who can balance multiple responsibilities in a dynamic media environment, and who has a passion for radio and community engagement. The University Corporation values inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring a supportive and fair employment experience for all team members. Benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, participation in a 403(b) retirement plan, life insurance, AD&D coverage, and flexible spending accounts, making this an attractive position for those seeking a meaningful career in the media and nonprofit sectors.
