The Member Service Representative (MSR) at GreenState Credit Union plays a pivotal role as the first point of contact and the face of the credit union. This position is dedicated to delivering quality, professional, and responsive service to members in all daily transactions and inquiries. The Member Service Representative is expected to possess a strong member-focused attitude, demonstrate accuracy in handling financial transactions, and operate with integrity while ensuring confidentiality of member information at all times. This frontline role requires outstanding communication skills to greet members warmly, resolve account discrepancies, process a variety of transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, and much more. The MSR also supports sales efforts by recognizing member financial needs and referring them to specialized departments such as Wealth Management, Commercial Lending, and Insurance. The position requires adherence to strict service standards and participation in ongoing efforts to enhance the member experience. The work schedule includes regular weekday hours with some Saturday shifts, providing compensation in the range of $17.39 to $20.33 per hour, plus an opportunity for monthly incentives.   • ability to develop and maintain effective team relationships
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • cash handling, sales, and customer service experience desired
  • must be bondable
  • punctuality and reliability

Job Duties

  • Adheres to the Credit Union Service Standards in carrying out GreenState's mission and vision
  • demonstrates a positive member service focus at all times
  • demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers
  • ensures confidentiality of member information
  • supports a diverse and inclusive work environment
  • makes weekly outbound service calls to members
  • answers member questions or refers members to appropriate departments or supervisors
  • assists with member account discrepancies, statement problems, complaints and escalates as necessary
  • performs member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing, loan payments, credit card payments, cash advances, bond redemptions, disbursement of official checks, sale of money orders, cashier checks, savings bonds, and promotional sales materials
  • builds member relationships by recognizing their financial needs and meeting those needs with appropriate GreenState products and services or referring to specialized departments
  • maintains satisfactory balancing record
  • educates members and staff on product features and benefits
  • refers products and services to benefit members to achieve team goals
  • accepts and examines checks for endorsements and negotiability
  • determines availability of funds and places holds when necessary
  • processes mail and night deposit transactions
  • completes all required forms
  • participates in opening and closing procedures
  • completes daily balancing and reconciliation of drawer offages
  • manages vault including cash disbursements and end of day lock-up
  • assists in security procedures
  • balances and maintains coin machines and cash recyclers
  • participates in community service and Credit Union sponsored events
