The Member Relations role at JOHN REED plays an integral part in delivering this unparalleled member experience by serving as the first point of contact, fostering welcoming and warm interactions, and supporting both the fitness operations and club administrative tasks. This full-time position comes with a compensation rate of $20 per hour, reflecting the club's commitment to attracting motivated individuals who are passionate about fitness and customer service. Reporting directly to the Club Manager, the Member Relations team member is responsible for creating an inviting atmosphere right from member check-in, assisting members with their fitness journeys, and ensuring smooth coordination across various club amenities including spa appointments, pool cabanas, class bookings, and restaurant reservations.
In addition to frontline hospitality duties, this role requires active involvement in new member inductions, welcome tours, and fitness studio preparations to guarantee a cohesive and enjoyable experience. Member Relations professionals at JOHN REED are expected to maintain a detailed understanding of all club offerings, provide timely administrative support such as data entry, contract filing, and communication updates, and engage actively with members to monitor satisfaction levels and relay valuable feedback to management. This role also partners closely with personal trainers and group fitness instructors to support and enhance the fitness training environment, participate in event setup and breakdown, and uphold the high cleanliness and organizational standards of the club spanning multiple fitness studios. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of service industry experience
- proficiency in using POS systems and relevant business software
- prior experience in boutique fitness training, operations, or management preferred
- exceptional communication skills
- ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- experience in personal or membership-based sales
- comfortable handling high-volume phone lines
- flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
- dependable and accountable
- willingness to adopt and implement app-based technology

- must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs throughout the day

Job Duties
- Serve as first point of contact at check-in
- stay informed on latest club offerings
- conduct new member inductions and assist with welcome tours

- discuss all of JOHN REED's amenities confidently
- manage account updates, payment info, and inquiries via phone and email
- perform administrative duties including filing contracts, data entry, and correspondence
- monitor member satisfaction and relay feedback to management
- maintain communication with members in person on each floor
- partner with trainers and instructors on fitness tasks
- complete fitness studio setup and assist with class registration
- assist with fitness studio resets and cleanliness
- support marketing and fitness team during special events
- attend developmental and team meetings
- perform other duties as assigned by management
