This position focuses on assisting in the planning and execution of meetings and special events at The Ritz-Carlton. The role is instrumental in the smooth transition between sales and operations, ensuring seamless event execution aligned with departmental strategies and business goals. The candidate will play a key role in managing event operations, budgets, and profitability by researching competitive products and pricing, maintaining client satisfaction through daily event floor walkthroughs, and establishing strong vendor relationships to enhance event experiences. Additionally, the role involves creating upselling opportunities, controlling department expenses, and maintaining high standards of customer service. The position requires active engagement with guests to garner feedback, resolve complaints, empower team members, and drive continuous service improvements.

- high school diploma or GED
- two years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales, marketing, or related professional area
- or two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with one year experience in event management, food and beverage, sales, marketing, or related professional area

Job Duties
- assist in planning and executing meetings and special events
- support implementation of departmental strategies
- ensure seamless turnover from sales to operations and back
- research and analyze competitor products, pricing, and services
- assist in executing event management strategies aligned with business goals
- conduct daily banquet floor walkthroughs to ensure client satisfaction and quality standards
- develop relationships with outside vendors and establish service agreements
- create upselling opportunities during event planning
- manage controllable department expenses to meet budget goals
- create an atmosphere that meets or exceeds guest expectations
- set positive examples for guest relations
- interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service
- respond to and handle guest complaints effectively
