Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related field
  • or 2-year degree from accredited university in hospitality-related field
  • 1 year experience in event management or related area
  • ability to conduct daily operational walk-throughs
  • skills in managing budgets and expenses
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • customer service orientation
  • ability to work full time
  • management level capability
  • eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 1 year experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related area
  • knowledge of event management strategies

Job Duties

  • Assists in planning and execution of meetings and special events
  • assists in implementation of departmental strategies
  • oversees seamless turnover from sales to operations and vice versa
  • researches and analyzes new products, pricing, and competitor services
  • conducts daily banquet floor walk-throughs
  • builds and maintains vendor relationships
  • creates opportunities to upsell during event planning
  • manages department controllable expenses
  • fosters an atmosphere that exceeds guest expectations
  • responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
  • empowers employees to deliver excellent customer service
  • sets expectations and parameters for staff
  • focuses on continuous service improvement
  • emphasizes guest satisfaction during meetings
