This position is focused on supporting the planning and execution of meetings and special events within the property. The role plays a critical part in bridging the gap between sales and operations teams to ensure a seamless turnover of events and the successful delivery of services. The ideal candidate will assist in implementing departmental strategies that drive business goals, enhance guest satisfaction, and contribute to the overall profitability of the property. It involves managing various operational aspects such as budget monitoring, vendor relations, upselling opportunities, and quality assurance during events. The position requires active engagement in daily banquet operations, including walkthroughs to maintain service standards and guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
- At least 1 year experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
- Ability to assist in planning and executing meetings and special events
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct daily walkthroughs and ensure client satisfaction
- Capability to assist in managing budgets and expenses
- Proficiency in developing vendor relationships
- Commitment to exceptional customer service and problem resolution

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Assisting in managing meetings and special events operations and budgets
- Researching and analyzing new products, pricing and services of competition
- Assisting in apprising property of all groups that will impact property operations
- Assisting in execution of event management strategy that is aligned with the company’s business strategy and leads its execution
- Conducting daily walk-through of banquet floor to help ensure client satisfaction and quality standards
- Assisting in developing working relationships with outside vendors and establishing prices and service agreements
- Creating opportunities to upsell during event planning
- Assisting in managing department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
- Creating an atmosphere in all event management operations areas that meets or exceeds guest expectations
- Setting a positive example for guest relations
- Interacting with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
- Responding to and handling guest problems and complaints
- Empowering employees to provide excellent customer service
- Ensuring employees understand expectations and parameters
