Job Description

American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) is a leading business travel company that harnesses the power of travel to positively impact careers and the travel industry. Amex GBT is known for fostering an inclusive work culture where employees are encouraged to share their voices and contribute meaningfully. The company specializes in providing comprehensive business travel solutions, including meetings and event management, tailored corporate travel services, and innovative travel technology. With a global presence and a dedication to customer service excellence, Amex GBT continually strives to enhance the travel experience for businesses and their employees worldwide.

This internship opportunity is a fully remote, 12-week program designed for individuals passionate about meetings and events planning. As a Meetings and Events Planning Intern at Amex GBT, you will collaborate closely with the event planning team to support the creation and execution of various events such as corporate conferences and virtual seminars. This role offers a flexible schedule that can adapt to your availability, making it an ideal opportunity for students currently enrolled in relevant degree programs. Throughout your internship, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in event planning and management, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and have opportunities to build a network with industry experts.

The core responsibilities of this internship include assisting with event logistics—from venue selection to vendor management and attendee registration—developing and distributing event materials, supporting virtual event production including technology setup and troubleshooting, and conducting research to provide recommendations for venues and suppliers. You will also be involved in ensuring clear communication within internal teams and with clients, providing assistance during live events, and participating in post-event follow-up activities such as feedback collection and report preparation. This position not only enhances your technical event planning skills but also develops your organizational, communication, and collaborative abilities within a global corporate environment.

Amex GBT offers this internship with a salary range of $42,700 to $79,300, reflecting factors such as the role's scope and candidate experience. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package starting from day one, including health and welfare insurance, retirement options, parental leave, adoption assistance, and wellness resources that support both employees and their families. Additionally, the #TeamGBT experience includes personalized flexible benefits, exclusive travel perks with deals on flights, hotels, cruises, and car rentals, opportunities for professional development through access to a vast learning platform, and a strong commitment to workplace inclusion through global INclusion Groups. Amex GBT values diversity and inclusivity, encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to apply and contribute to a thriving, supportive team environment.
