Job Description

Arden Courts is a specialized healthcare facility dedicated to providing exceptional care and support tailored specifically for seniors, including those dealing with dementia and other cognitive impairments. As a trusted provider in the senior living and memory care industry, Arden Courts focuses on creating a compassionate environment where residents receive personalized attention and professional assistance in daily living activities. The organization prides itself on a team-oriented culture that emphasizes respect, dignity, and quality of life for every individual under their care.

The role of a Medication Technician (Med Tech) at Arden Courts is integral to maintaining the health and well-being of the residents. The Medication Technician is responsible for administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with healthcare guidelines and maintaining accurate and detailed records of all administered medications. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a thorough understanding of medication protocols and safety standards.

Beyond the core responsibility of medication administration, the Medication Technician may also serve as a Caregiver to assist residents in various aspects of their daily life. This additional support includes helping with hygiene, mobility, and other personal care needs, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for elderly residents. The role demands physical stamina and dexterity, as it involves activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting moderately heavy objects regularly.

Arden Courts offers a flexible employment arrangement with no mandate for overtime or mandatory shift coverage, which supports work-life balance for its staff. Employees benefit from daily access to earned wages through ZayZoon, customized uniforms, exclusive employee discounts, and a range of appreciation events that foster team spirit and recognize staff contributions. For PRN staff, premium pay is available for holidays worked, along with access to an employee assistance program (EAP).

Applicants to this position should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and possess basic communication skills in English. Prior experience working with the elderly, particularly those with dementia, is preferred. Certification as a Medication Technician according to state regulations is required, ensuring that all personnel meet professional standards necessary for safe and effective medication administration.

Physical demands for this position include the ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods, and to lift or carry up to 50 pounds unassisted. Full use of hands, arms, and legs is necessary for tasks such as bathing, dressing, and cleaning. The candidate must be able to read thermometers, charts, and testing equipment and operate laundry machines and kitchen appliances effectively.

Arden Courts is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex or gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status, and other protected categories. The organization complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA) and offers accommodations to applicants with disabilities to ensure an equitable hiring process.
