Job Description

Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) is a leading U.S. healthcare company dedicated to making it easier for millions of people to achieve their best health by delivering care and services that they need, when they need it. With a strong presence in the healthcare sector through Humana insurance services and CenterWell healthcare services, the company focuses on improving quality of life for people with Medicare and Medicaid, families, individuals, military service personnel, and communities at large. The company’s commitment to exceptional service and putting health first have positioned it uniquely to strengthen relationships with its members and prospects through memorable experiences that emphasize quality service over just great products.

The MarketPoint Career Channel Team at Humana is currently seeking Medicare Sales Field Agents to become part of a dedicated and caring community. This role is field-based and requires living in a designated territory to serve the local community effectively. The selected candidates will be part of a collaborative team of 8-12 Medicare Sales Field Agents working under the guidance and leadership of a Senior Manager and Regional Director who are committed to their professional growth and success. The role involves delivering Humana’s strategic goals by focusing on delivering fundamentals, differentiating through outstanding service, and expanding the company’s reach through relationship-building and community engagement.

As a Medicare Sales Field Agent, you’ll build trust by educating individuals about Humana’s Medicare Advantage plans along with a variety of additional offerings including Life, Dental, Vision, and Prescription coverage. You are encouraged to create face-to-face connections with potential members via grassroots marketing, local community events, and in-home visits. This personalized outreach approach aims to create meaningful experiences that differentiate Humana from its competitors. Your efforts to grow will involve driving self-generated sales, meeting specific performance goals, and expanding Humana’s presence in the market by becoming a trusted resource and community partner.

This position offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance coverages, paid time off and holidays, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching, tuition reimbursement, and scholarships for qualifying dependent children. The employment involves a full-time commitment with a 40-hour workweek, offering a competitive pay range of $80,000 to $125,000 per year that includes base salary plus commission with guarantees. The role requires flexibility for meeting appointments and event schedules that may include nights and weekends. New hires must complete mandatory training sessions during the first five weeks of employment to ensure thorough preparation for success.

As part of the position requirements, agents must hold an active health insurance license and Medicare supplement license or be able to obtain them. Residing in the designated local territory is essential for community engagement, which often involves daily face-to-face interactions delivered in people's homes or community venues. Due to the nature of the work, a valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance meeting minimum coverage standards are mandatory. Preferred qualifications include licenses for life and variable annuity insurance, experience selling Medicare products, public speaking skills, and familiarity with sales management software like Salesforce. Additionally, bilingual fluency in English and another language is a strong asset, emphasizing Humana’s commitment to diverse communities.

Humana is an equal opportunity employer committed to non-discrimination and affirmative action policies, ensuring a workplace that welcomes diversity and supports individuals with disabilities and protected veteran statuses. The company strives to base all employment decisions on valid requirements, fostering an inclusive workplace culture that reflects its values and dedication to putting members’ health first.
