The role of a Customer Service Specialist at Palm Medical Centers is integral to delivering exceptional healthcare experiences. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, this position embodies the welcoming face of the center by managing front desk operations including patient check-in and check-out, handling telephonic communications, and providing general clerical support. The specialist must exhibit strong interpersonal skills, managing patient interactions with professionalism, patience, and care to enhance comfort and satisfaction. This full-time position operates during regular business hours, from Monday to Friday, with an 8-hour day shift schedule. Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $19.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience. Responsibilities extend beyond routine tasks to include appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate and confidential patient records. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with electronic health record systems, preferably eClinicalWorks (eCW), and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, enhancing their ability to engage effectively with a diverse patient population. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of one year work experience in a medical front desk or receptionist capacity
  • bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks (eCW)
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong customer service and phone etiquette
  • ability to multitask and prioritize
  • ability to sit for prolonged periods and perform basic physical tasks including lifting up to 20 pounds
  • flexibility to commute to other centers if needed

Job Duties

  • Deliver excellent patient service
  • answer telephone promptly and direct calls accordingly
  • ability to retrieve phone messages and transfer calls as necessary
  • verify patient insurance
  • ability to retrieve all correspondence from all mailboxes and distribute accordingly
  • ability to prioritize the centers business needs and flexibility to assist other areas as needed
  • responsible for scheduling appointments, checking-in/out patients, and obtaining accurate patient information
  • greet patients and visitors in a courteous/professional manner
  • notify appropriate personnel of visitor arrival and directs visitor to correct area
  • perform clerical functions
  • maintain/update directory of all employees in the center
  • notify the transportation dispatcher when patients are ready for pick up
  • maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times
  • ensure waiting and reception areas are kept clean and tidy
  • flexibility to commute to other centers if needed
  • other duties as assigned
