We are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team as a Patient Support Representative. This is a full-time position based in Monroe, GA, where the Medical Receptionist will play an essential role in managing front desk operations and supporting various administrative functions. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for patients and visitors, responsible for greeting them warmly, handling patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently, and managing appointment finalizations. This role requires proficient multitasking abilities and cross-training in different reception and administrative duties to ensure smooth workflow and excellent patient service throughout the day.
The Medical Receptionist will also oversee ancillary services in coordination with the Patient Support Manager, ensuring that all operational aspects connected to patient reception and administrative follow-up are handled with professionalism and accuracy. Key responsibilities will include adhering to organizational policies such as HIPAA and OSHA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality and workplace safety, respectively. Communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital, as this role involves interacting with patients of diverse backgrounds, team members, and management. The candidate must display kindness, respect, and a professional demeanor consistently to foster a positive healthcare environment.
Additional duties extend to administrative support such as assisting patients with patient portals for better healthcare management, reviewing medical encounters and messages, maintaining clean and HIPAA-compliant workstations, and auditing staff workflows. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can work independently with minimal supervision yet collaborates effectively within a team. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two years related experience and/or training
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health record/electronic medical record systems
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Maintains current notary

- Excellent customer service skills
- Previous sales and marketing experience is plus
- Professional appearance and demeanor

Job Duties
- Follow all OFHC policies per OFHC Employee Manual and other distributed policies
- Always follow HIPAA guidelines and respect patient confidentiality in all that is done
- Always follow OSHA Guidelines assuring workplace safety when applicable
- Work as a cooperative team member with all departments of OFHC
- Maintain open communication with leadership while following the chain of command to assure all issues are properly addressed
- Complete all assignments from Management as directed and in the requested time including monthly reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Assist patients with Patient Portal and Healow as needed
- Review encounters, messages, and e-mails within a timely manner and document appropriately in charts
- Always maintain confidentiality
- Assist other staff members as needed
- Attend staff meetings and training as directed by Management
- Maintain clean, clutter free and HIPAA compliant workstation at all times
- Work independently with little to no supervision
- Ensure all duties assigned to check-in staff are carried out appropriately
- Audit staff members workflows and assignments
- Address complaints from staff members, patients, or other visitors to our facility
- Participate in project teams as assigned to assist with writing training manuals and training staff
