The Medical Receptionist role at ADCS is integral to maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of the front office. As a Medical Receptionist, the successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, tasked with greeting patients warmly and ensuring their efficient check-in process while maintaining a professional, friendly demeanor. The role requires strong organizational skills to accurately handle patient documentation, including the distribution and review of informational materials and forms, copying insurance IDs, and managing general administrative duties. Supporting the front office business administrators and Office Manager, this role will involve tasks such as pulling and filing patient records, frequent patient communication via telephone, assisting with scheduling and outreach, and setting up new patient charts.
Additional responsibilities may include screening patients and staff upon arrival, checking patients in and out of the office, assisting with rooming patients while following social distancing guidelines, adhering to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in designated areas. This position prioritizes exceptional customer service combined with clinical administrative support to foster an environment where patients feel welcomed and cared for from the moment they arrive.
Candidates suited for this role will be personable, dependable, and responsible professionals who take pride in their verbal and written communication skills as well as their ability to maintain organization within a busy healthcare setting. Typing proficiency, knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies, as well as computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, are essential. Job Duties
- Facilitating the efficient and timely entry of the patient to the office setting
- greeting all patients in a professional manner
- handing out appropriate literature and information and forms to be filled out by patient
- checking for accuracy and completion
