We are currently seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our dedicated team of professionals. In this vital role, you will act as the first point of contact for patients, offering a warm, friendly, and service-oriented approach to greet and register patients. Your responsibilities will include verifying insurance and patient information, collecting necessary documentation and signatures, logging co-pays and fees, and managing appointment scheduling. The position requires a strong commitment to patient confidentiality and safeguarding patient health information, along with upholding company property and cash handling standards. You will coordinate closely with back-office staff to ensure smooth operations and timely patient care. This role demands a professional demeanor along with the ability to respect patient boundaries, cultural sensitivities, and demonstrate diplomacy, sympathy, and professionalism at all times. Job Requirements

  • knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • recent medical or radiology office experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information
  • collect signatures and ensure accuracy and completion of necessary documentation
  • collect and log all co-pays and fees
  • answer and transfer incoming phone calls
  • schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments
  • confirm appointments and notify staff of changes
  • give patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols
  • provide directions to facilities if needed
  • coordinate with back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients
  • safeguard patient property and patient health information
  • safeguard onsite medications in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
  • demonstrate respect for company property including cash and patient financial information
  • exhibit professional behavior toward patients and coworkers
  • respect patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities
  • interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, families, and the public
